Tue, 15 Apr 2008 01:00:00 PDT
Americans recently received some good news regarding Social Security. While the retirement and disability program still faces significant funding shortfalls, the annual trustees report released last month showed improved long-term finances. But there is more "good" news, this time for workers who receive an annual benefit statement from the Social Security Administration.

FIWC online winners announced

Tue, 15 Apr 2008 16:27:03 PDT
Fifa.com have announced the winners for the regional online qualifiers. Great news for team Geekpulp as Hops has taken out the NZ bracket. I must admit that the difference in quality between Hops and I is now clear, and the grief that I gave him for getting eliminated at the same stage as me was unjustified (but funny). He was by a large margin the highest point getter in the Oceania region almost doubling his nearest competitions point count. Hops will be heading off to Germany for the Grand

How juicy political legends and myths like “Hidden Agenda” are written

Thu, 13 Mar 2008 14:58:11 PDT
How juicy political legends and myths like “Hidden Agenda” are written 1. As a general matter, simply watch the state-owned CBC Newsworld channel or any of a number of other liberal media outlets. Legends and myths appear as if out of nowhere. For example, just now: On the CBC Newsworld channel, in the middle of the newscast, a guest expert on all things political, Susan Delacourt, a political columnist from the liberal-left’s Toronto Star, suggested that Prime Minister Harper is an “unf

The World Is Slowing

Tue, 15 Apr 2008 16:24:35 PDT
The times they are a-changin'. The world is definitely slowing down if the best international news story coming out of Europe is coverage of the German Chancellor's tits! Granted, her mammaries don't look altogether unappealing for a 54 year old, at least upon initial presentation, but a look at a few other shots soon reveals that Angela is prone to the ravages of gravity like any other woman her age. Still....good on her for having the dash to dress appropriately for an evening out. Who says wo

The CMT Awards Take "One-Hit Wonder" Jokes To An Uncomfortable New Level

Idolator: All About The Music, USA - Apr 15, 2008

Last night's CMT Music Awardsthe country-music television network's version of its sister network MTV's Video Music Awardsveered into "a little more than slightly excruciating" territory when co-host Miley Cyrus tripped her way through a Taylor Swift intro in which she talked about texting the glittery-guitar-hoisting country protege incessantly, an endless setup to what would be one of many "ha ha, Dad, I'm paying your bills!" zingers that the Hannah Montana star sent in the direction of her father/svengali, "Achy Breaky Heart" singer Billy Ray Cyrus. (Yes, he performed the line dance that sent him and his mullet to stardom back in 1992, the same year his cash cow was sired.) The opening skit, in which Trace Adkins and his really greasy mop tried currying favor with everyone from Donald Trump to the three remaining Presidential candidates in order to get passes to the show, also mined that route; its final punchline was that Billy Ray was making extra scratch by scalping tickets, which were of course hot properties because of his daughter's presence. That girl is going to be so messed up in three years. Full list of winnerswhich includes three awards for Kellie Pickler, two for Taylor Swift, and one for that super-creepy video where Jon Bon Jovi and Leann Rimes make outafter the jump.
